Totally - I think both the broken camera and the confusion (we actually had all the forms we needed, we found out later) were related at least in part to the passport acceptance facility we went to. I kept saying "there has got to be an easier way!" (thus, the title of the post) Thank you for reinforcing the point. And no matter what, it is totally worth being able to travel with our kid.
